Now some of you might know I’ve spent years messing about playing keyboards in bands as well as working in Post Production for film and TV, and I still dabble today.

One thing that has always interested me was other-ways of interacting with sound. The SoniColumn from multimedia artist Jin-You Mok is a fascinating piece of work. Through an array of touch sensitive LED’S it can be played via a persons touch. When touched the LED’s light and emit unique sounds. But more than that once you have finished playing your piece you can crank a handle and the column rotates itself and plays back what the user has just touched…just like a sequencer…cool!!!!! Some great pics of the installation as well on this web site.

Via Endgadget who mentioned the legendary and fantastic Thomas Dolby!!!!!! in their article.
